Tower Captain
Carolyn Howell
Buryan tower recently unveiled after 6 months refurbishment.
Would you like to learn a traditional skill that has been part of our heritage for over 500 years? Why not give bellringing a try?
Bellringing is a team activity that stimulates the brain and helps keeps you fit (body and brain) - it also makes a glorious sound!
Come meet us and have a taster session at our Friday Practice, 7:30pm St Buryan church tower.
Ringers come from all walks of life and range in age from ten to those who’d rather not say. You don’t need special clothing and training is free.
We’re a very sociable group – and of course most churches have pubs opposite! Lapsed bellringers also very welcome.
Our Buryan bells are famous for being the heaviest peal of six in the world and we have an excellent new tower captain – Carolyn Howell who is also a teacher.
