Subject: Sunday Services in St Buryan Church restarted in April 2021

We are delighted to tell you that all three Churches in the Land’s End Benefice re-opened for public worship from 11th April 2021 and Zoom Services ceased. A small group of us from all three parishes have been working together to organise a rota for Services, now that our Rector has moved on.  We feel that we should be functioning more as a benefice and less as individual parishes, something we have not been very good at in the past, and so are intending to have a shared monthly benefice Service, which will rotate round the three Churches.  These will be in addition to any special Service, such as when we have Feast or a visiting Bishop.

Other than this, as far as is possible for the time being, we intend to have a Service every Sunday in each Church, apart from the benefice Sundays, and are very grateful to the Revd. Michael Searle and the Revd. Christine Jago for offering to help us achieve this. There will be a Eucharist each week in the benefice, but of necessity there will have to be Services of the word as well, in all of the Churches.  We will constantly review this pattern of worship and will welcome any comments or feedback.

Our Services at St. Buryan will once again start at 10am, and we will ensure that all Covid regulations are strictly in place.  Everybody must wear masks, use hand sanitizer, follow the track and trace regulations, and maintain social distancing at all times. We will have a one-way system for receiving communion and will receive the bread only.  The priest will receive the wine on behalf of all of us.  We are still not allowed any congregational singing, but we hope to have music during the Services.

We are very much looking forward to worshipping again together and to seeing you all, and we hope that as many of you as possible will feel safe to return to Church.  We will try to make sure that Service dates and any change to the time of a Service is on the St Buryan Church website and the Church gate but please get in touch with a member of the PCC or email if you have any questions.

With every blessing

From St. Buryan Parochial Church Council (PCC)
