Diocesan Day of Prayer
This year’s Day of Prayer, Deeper into Prayer: Wider into the World, is on Saturday 8th  September in St Michael’s church Newquay. Put the date in your diaries now. The day begins at 10:30 and ends with a final act of worship at around 4pm.  Everyone is welcome to come for an hour or two or join in with the whole day.

There will be different workshops and opportunities for prayer happening in the church building and hall throughout the day, including praying with art and poetry, icons, Taize and much more. Prayer activities for children, families and young people will take place in the church hall in the afternoon.

As the 8th of September is ‘Fish Day’ in Newquay! Jem Thorold and Bishop Chris will lead a Prayer Walk around the town, praying for both the local community and the wider diocese. Low-tide will be at 11am and they are hoping to have a labyrinth building prayer activity on the beach in the morning, ideal for families to join in.

There will be a strong element of pilgrimage in the day so you may be inspired to join Nigel Marns as he leads pilgrims along a short section of the Celtic way from Watergate Bay, also ideal for families, and arriving back in Newquay by lunchtime, so everybody can gather together to share packed lunches and pilgrimage tales in the church hall.

This year’s day of prayer should be a great event so please do come and join with us in prayer and fellowship.
