Book & Jigsaw Exchange
meets on Tuesday 1st May at 10.45am, in St Buryan church, after the morning service. Free coffee and biscuits, borrow as many books and/or jigsaws as you like, as long as you return the same number within 3 months. Everyone Welcome.

 

Bible Study in LEB
Starting on Tuesday 1st May, 2-3pm at Peter Jackson’s house, 15 Mayon Green Crescent, Sennen (at the end of the first turning on the left as you descend towards Sennen Cove). All welcome! Let’s share and learn, whatever your tradition and however much you think you do or don’t know!

Plant Sale
On Sunday 6th May at Lamorna Village Hall, the Peninsula Garden Society will hold their renowned Annual Plant Sale from 11:30am until 2pm.  As well as lots of plants and garden books,  homemade soup will be available from lunchtime, along with cakes and tea/coffee.  If you need advise on gardening in our challenging Cornish climate, club members will be available with hints and tips.  So come along and either replace your plants killed by The Beast from the East, or just to find some more treasures for your garden.

 

Bible Study in LEB
Tuesday 8th May, from 2-3pm at Michelle & Cecil Brown’s house, Lor Hellyas, Sennen, 100 yds past Sennen Church heading towards Land’s End, driveway on right opposite Seaview House B&B (park in gravel car park or on meadow – it is the granite house across the meadow. All welcome! Let’s share and learn, whatever your tradition and however much you think you do or don’t know!

 

Thy Kingdom Come 2018  
is a global prayer campaign, supported by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, to encourage us all to pray 'Come holy Spirit' from Ascension Day, Thursday 10th May  to Pentecost Sunday 20th May 2018. More information available on

St Buryan Feast Supper
is our next major event on Saturday 12th May at the Village Hall from 7pm, which is only three weeks away. I have put a list at the back of the church this morning. I hope you will add your name to the list along with your family, neighbours and friends. Please also add if you are able to contribute to the catering on the evening. I propose to have a run through of progress of preparations at the Breakfast Club on Thursday 3 May, which is held at 4 Lisbon Terrace from 8.30-10.30am. Do pop in if you can.  Several of us will then set the tables during the afternoon on 12th May. Again all offers of help very welcome. We will have a hamper to raffle on the evening and hopefully the usual game or quiz to add to the entertainment. Fiona.

 

St Buryan Feast Service
A celebration of the life of the church and its patron saint with a feast of music. Do put this date into your diary now, and remember no morning services in St Levan or Sennen that day.

Chapel Feast Service
On Sunday 13th May the Feast Sunday service at St Buryan Methodist Chapel will be taken by Mrs E. Eddy at 11am.

Big Royal Breakfast
at the Logan Rock Inn on Saturday 19th May 8.30am until 11am. Come and join in with a delicious Full English, Vegetarian or similar breakfast at the Logan Rock Inn, £7.50. Dress for a wedding - whether royal or the scarecrow wedding is up to you! Come and join the fun!

Concert
Sarah McQuaid's April-May UK/Ireland tour is ending with a concert at Praa Sands Community Centre on Saturday 2nd June starting at 7:30pm, with doors at 7pm. Sarah looks will be back with the St Buryan church choir full time from the end of May until she goes away on tour again at the start of September.

A craft exhibition will be held at St Buryan Methodist Chapel from Tuesday 19th June to Friday 22nd June. Open hours are Tuesday 10am to 5pm; Wednesday 10am to 7pm; Thursday 10am to 7pm; Friday from 10am to 4pm. More details to follow.

 

Pastor from Salem
from Friday 22nd to Wednesday 27th June we will be welcoming Pastor Phil Wyman, from Salem, Massachusetts, to the Benefice. Bishop Chris has given permission for him to preach, during his stay here. More details to follow…..

Rectory Cream Teas

St Buryan Rally
St Buryan church will be having a fundraising stall at St Buryan Agricultural Rally again this year on Saturday 28th July and Sunday 29th July. Please can we have volunteers to help staff the stall, on both days, and to provide saleable items. Particularly welcome would be home-made and homegrown produce and baking and crafts. More details nearer the time.
