Events in November

St Buryan Breakfast Club
meets on Thursday 2nd November at 4 Lisbon Terrace, from 8.30am until 10.30am. Come and enjoy tea, coffee, OJ, toast, croissants, bacon to set you up for the day. Everyone is very welcome. All Souls Service
Thursday 2nd November at 6pm in St Sennen church. This will be  a mix of readings and music, plus we will read aloud the names of those recently died, and anyone else we are asked to remember. There will be a chance to light a candle in memory of your loved ones. Each church has a list where you can add names to our list of those to be remembered. Please write in CAPITAL LETTERS and clearly so that we get the right names. Further details please contact Vanda. 

Coffee Morning
and Table Top Sale on Saturday 4th November, from 10am-1pm, in St Buryan Village Hall. In aid of Westfield Special School. Help and Raffle prizes will be very welcome. For further details and to book a Table please phone Jane on 810826.






Book & Jigsaw Exchange
This monthly venture meets on Tuesday 7th November at 10.45am, after the morning service. Free coffee and biscuits, borrow as many books and/or jigsaws as long as you return the same number within 3 months. Everyone Welcome.


Remembrance Day
there will be an Act of Remembrance, with two minute silence, at St Buryan War Memorial at 10.45am on Saturday 11th November.   

Remembrance Sunday
on Sunday, 12th November, an Act of Remembrance will be held at 11am at all our War Memorials. At St Levan it takes place at Polgigga after the 9.30am service in St Levan church. In St Buryan it will follow the 10am service in church. At Sennen it takes place before the service in Sennen church (assemble at 10.45am). Coffee will be served afterwards, in St Buryan and Sennen churches, and at the Cricket Pavillion at Polgigga.


Messy Church
is Remembering on Sunday 12th November at 4.30pm in the Telegraph Museum, Porthcurno. Come along and join in a fun afternoon of crafts, activities, stories and games, all ending with a delicious tea. Please wear clothes that can get messy! All ages welcome, children must be accompanied by an adult please. No charge, donations welcome to pay for venues. Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes
Once again St Buryan Academy school will be supporting the Shoebox Appeal which receives donations in the form of a shoebox gift for a less fortunate child living in Eastern Europe. If anyone would like to donate a shoebox or items which can be put into shoeboxes, such as felt pens, pencils, pens, pencil sharpeners, rubbers, picture or colouring  books (no text please), stickers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, comb/brushes, soap, flannels, hair accessories, scarves, hats, gloves, bangles, necklaces or sweets (with a sell by date of at least the end of March 2018) they would be very welcome.  Any Boxes left in the back of the church will be collected on Monday 13th November and delivered to Chapel Street.

Charity Speaker
Major Wall from the Salvation Army will give a talk about their work on Sunday 19th November during the 9.30am service at St Levan church. From Feast Sunday onwards St Levan will be asking for donations of new toys for babies and young children; smellies and makeup etc for older children; and suitable presents for young teenage boys. The Salvation Army will greatly appreciate any contibutions, to make a happy Christmas for those less fortunate.


Choral Evensong
on Sunday 19th November in St Buryan church, at 6pm.
A gentle reflective service from the Book of Common Prayer, led by a member of the Ministry Team with choral singing led by St Buryan Church Choir.


Christmas Coffee Morning
St Levan are holding a Christmas Coffee Morning at 10am on Saturday 25th November, at Trepedn, Treen the home of Sally & Jonathan Scott
