Churches Together...
in West Penwith, Coffee Morning on Wednesday 19th September, from 10am—12noon, in St Just Miners Chapel. Everyone welcome, come along and meet new friends from the local churches.

Peninsula Garden Society
Monthly garden meetings start again on Wednesday 19th September at 7.30pm with Nigel Pascoe talking about  All-Round Colour in the Garden. Talks later in the year will include the celebrated Cornish daffodil breeder Ron Scamp (bulbs for sale) and Chris Osborne talking on 'The Garden Route'. As always, visitors are most welcome, £2 on the door.

 

World’s Biggest….
Coffee Morning is taking place on Friday 28th September in St Buryan Village Hall (small room) from 10-12am, for Macmillan Cancer Support. Cakes, Raffle, “Guess the weight of the cake” plus another stall or so, as well as the coffee morning. It’s always a great “Fun” event, hopefully see you there! Gifts of cakes, raffle prizes or help would be very welcome, if so please contact Wendy 810541. Thank you.

 

Book & Jigsaw Exchange

Chapel Anniversary
On Saturday 6th October St Buryan Chapel will be holding their Anniversary Fayre and Table Top sale in the Chapel at 2pm.  Everyone Welcome

Charity Speaker
St Levan Church quarterly charity for October/November/December will be the Samaritans. We have a speaker coming to tell us about the work of this charity on Sunday 7th October at 9.30am. Everyone welcome.  It should be a most interesting talk.

Dutch Organists Tour
a large group of 38 touring Dutch Organists are visiting St Buryan church on Tuesday 16th October between 2pm and 3pm, accompanied by organ builder, Lance Foy. They will all want tea, so volunteers are  needed please Home made cakes will be welcome. Bramwell Bourne will doing a short recital. Everybody is welcome to come and listen. Autumn Fair
St Buryan Church Autumn Fair will be on Saturday 20th October. Stalls, Cream Teas, Cakes, Plants, Bric-a-brac, Craft, Raff le ect. Please can we have volunteers to help run the stalls and to provide saleable items. Particularly welcome would be home-made and homegrown produce, baking and craft. Third Sunday Singers
Could all those who are interested in joining a  Choir for St Buryan’s Family Service on Sunday 21st October (third Sunday every month), meet in church at 9.15am, prior to the Service, so that we can have a rehearsal. 

Choral Evensong
Sunday 21st October in St Buryan church, at 6pm. A gentle reflective service from the Book of Common Prayer, led by a member of the Ministry Team with choral singing by St Buryan Church Choir.

Chapel Anniversary Concert
performed by The Pipers Choir on Wednesday 31st October at 7-30pm .Everyone welcome. There will be a retiring collection for Chapel funds.

Ringing Remembers
Please put Sunday 11th November, the Centenary of the Armistice, in your diary. In addition to the normal half muffled bell ringing in the morning, we need every possible ringer to be available to help ring in every single church. Lapsed ringers very welcome.  Others taking part may want to use their involvement as a personal tribute to those who left families, homes and sweethearts and died during dreadful conditions during the four years of War.

 

Messy Church Remembers
Sunday 11th November at 4.30pm in Porthcurno Telegraph Museum. Come and join in a fun afternoon of crafts, activities, stories and games, ending with a delicious tea. Wear clothes that can get messy! All ages welcome, children must be accompanied by an adult. No charge, donations welcome to pay for venues. Details from Vanda.
