Youth Group Guidelines

The Land’s End Benefice Youth Group is primarily for those young people who are regular members of one of the churches in the benefice or have been confirmed as an Anglican in the past 3-4 years, or those seriously considering confirmation.

The group seeks to support those young people from usually the last term of year six in primary school through the secondary education.

We meet monthly on the second Sunday from 6pm to 7.30pm from September to July and ask for a small voluntary contribution from each person.

All meetings will include times of prayer and reflection. Over the year there will usually be a mixture of activities from crafts, social events, games and interactive bible study. Occasionally there may be other events held outside of the second Sunday.

We strive to give the young people a safe space to explore their spiritual journey and see where their faith connects with the reality of their lives.

The youth group aims to be a place where people model and act in a Christian way of tolerance love and support of one another. Therefore we normally expect a standard of behaviour that echoes these aims.

All regular helpers (youth leaders) will be checked through the national Disclosure and Barring Scheme. Visitors will not be left unaccompanied by a youth leader. All people will be expected to work within the Safeguarding guidelines in the Land’s End Benefice Safeguarding Policy. This policy is available on the websites CLICK HERE or at The Rectory.

Parents and guardians or carers are expected to complete, annually, the contact form for each young person who attends. This will include a request for medical details, allergies and dietary requirements. This will also include a request for permission for photographs to be taken during youth group.

Transport to and from Youth Group events is the responsibility of the parent, guardian or carer.

Finally we ask that those who attend the group and their families are encouraged to join the youth leaders in prayer for one another between meetings.
